SFR 4G activation visual

Context

Bringing 4G speed to life through a brand activation.

The activation connected technology, performance and content to demonstrate the speed of the 4G network.

01

How can the speed of a network be made visible?

At the launch of 4G, connection-speed figures and technical arguments were not enough to demonstrate to the public what the new network made possible. SFR's communication challenge was to turn a largely invisible technology promise into a tangible, memorable experience that was easy to share. At Publicis Groupe, the proposal took the form of an activation combining a technology demonstration, live performance, audiovisual content and amplification. The intention was to let the public perceive the speed and responsiveness of the connection, rather than simply communicating technical specifications.

02

A connected experience with remotely controlled robots

The concept used remotely controlled robots to make the idea of real-time interaction tangible. The activation at the Grand Palais combined this connected installation with an artistic and musical programme, including RED and Vitalic. The challenge was to help the public understand the relationship between how the technology worked, the experience in the space and the brand message. This required organising the work of creative, technical, event and production teams so that the demonstration functioned under real conditions, rather than only in a concept presentation.

03

The event and its amplification were conceived together

The strategy did not end with the in-person experience. Planning included video capture, editing and content intended for digital channels and media, extending the demonstration to audiences who would not attend the event. The audiovisual narrative needed to convey both the atmosphere of the activation and the significance of the technology demonstration. Live performance, content production and amplification were therefore part of a single communication project. No audience figures or campaign results are presented because a validated documentary assessment is not yet available.

Ludovic's role: connecting strategy, technology and execution

At Publicis Groupe, Ludovic de La Bédoyère contributed to strategy and directed the coordination of the activation and its production, bringing together creative, technical and communication requirements. The campaign concept, robot operations, event schedule and video and media formats needed to be integrated. The experience illustrates multidisciplinary leadership: bringing different specialisms together around a single proposition while maintaining the coherence of the project from initial idea to execution.
